Turkey, Travel, History and Hiç

Now that we find ourselves confined to our homes during these unprecedented times, I thought I’d take this opportunity to tell our story from the beginning and share my personal journey of moving to Urla, Turkey and launching Hiç in America.

Hiç is more than just an olive oil producer... it’s a brand that embraces, amplifies and honors the history and natural resources of a hidden gem on the Aegean Coast named Urla.

After moving to Urla with my husband over five years ago, we have enjoyed so many marvelous experiences.  I will share highlights of Urla life and invaluable information including;  historical insights and ancient stories of Urla, olives in Turkey and olive oil production, Turkish culture and design, wonderful local recipes, favorite Turkish food and of course featured Hiç dishes, Aegean coast travel tips including can’t miss secret hot spots, must-do itineraries like a wine tour along the “Urla Bağ Yolu” - The Vineyard Route  - often referred to as the “Tuscany of Turkey” and much more. Urla, the unassuming little town on the Aegean coast, is the best kept secret and a great destination for your next big trip…..when global travel resumes.

I aim to bring my “yabancı” - foreigner - perspective to this experience in hopes that I will inspire and ignite interest in visiting this very special part of the world ....
